Without Spot or Blemish

  What did our Father wish for us to ascertain from His words, to be without spot or blemish? Was He talking about our bad habits? Well, our bad habits could be called stains on our character, but no matter how hard you try to keep the tabernacle that you dwell in stainless, you may as well forget it. We missed that mark a long time ago, because we are all stained to a degree. But, we can become spotless by something that is unblemished: the blood of Jesus Christ.

The basic, primary thing that God would have you keep spotless is His Word. He warned that you must keep His Word pure and not listen to the traditions of men that make void His perfect Word. When He returns you are to be teaching It, spotless. You are not to let in one blemish.

1 Timothy 6:3-4 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of your Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

From this comes wrong conclusions and values. They change that which is beautiful to something that can bind you more than iron chains, and put your life into bondage to laws that are not even of God.

1 Timothy 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

People begin to surmise God’s Truth from the teachings of man. Paul tells us to get away from these teachings.

1 Timothy 6:13-14 I give thee charge in the sight of God, Who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, Who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Do you know what this charge is? You have the authority to keep His commandment, His Word, without spot! Don’t let the blemishes of men work their way into His truth.

Let’s take a closer look at the spots we are warned of. There are many things you must know that are not commonly taught in our Father’s Word. It is not that others are necessarily against those events and teachings, but they are not even aware of them. For example--The Three World Ages.

If you don’t understand the foundation of His Word based on those 'three ages' you will not understand much of God’s Word, from the Parables of Jesus to what God would have you to do. Keeping His Word spotless has a great deal to do with one thing--teaching ALL of His Word.

II Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the People, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord That bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

This is a serious thing! How does the "rapture theory", for example, do this? It teaches man to deny his true Lord and sets him up to worship anti-christ. There is nothing more cruel than bringing forth a theory that turns the thoughts and the minds of men to deception. Men that are seeking true advice and direction from other men they trust, only to be misled. This is the fruit of that spot.

II Peter 2:2-3 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

If you try to teach the true events of God or things that shall happen they will speak against you. The feigned words mean fabricated or formed. They are dangerous and do not pertain to God’s Word.

Peter continues to tell of the defiling of the Word from Noah’s time, and how even Satan’s angels, the nephilim, partake in corrupting and twisting things they don’t even understand.

II Peter 2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the daytime. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

You had better heed this warning real good! In the daytime means out in the open, in public. They are eating from the same table you are. Be careful! They would even have you think that your own personal shortcomings could be the danger to God’s Word! Or, those of some individuals who cause problems within the church.

We will never be perfect in this flesh body, but I have news for you, our little shortcomings could never be important enough to shadow the true meaning of God’s Word.

No, the danger comes from the one professing Jesus, and teaches traditions of man, rather than God’s pure, truthful, unblemished Word.

It can be the man who stands at his pulpit and reads one or two verses and then by the time an hour is up and all is said and done you don’t even remember the verses or the context in which they were originally placed. They eat at the table of the Christian, beloved. Their doctrine is spotted and blemished and warped.

There is a day coming soon when God will no longer tolerate it. As that time approaches you need to re-evaluate your capabilities of recognizing what is spotted or blemished. You must be able to discern falseness when you hear it. It is a time of discernment but also a time of wisdom. Vengeance is not ours, it is God’s and He will take care of it.

Your job is to teach with purity all of His Word and to remove yourself completely from what you find to be spotted. You are to come out of the teachings of the misled and thank your Father for letting you see the difference!

I Peter 1:16-17 Because it is written, "Be ye holy; for I am holy." And if ye call on the Father, Who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning in fear:

This work is your work in His Word. TO accomplish this you must seek after His Word and study it in its purity or else what will your works amount to? In fear means in reverence to Almighty God.

I Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

Even thought the beasts of sacrifice from the old days were without spot, it was not their blood that cleansed the sinful man. Today it is not the vain teachings taught by tradition that will save a man’s soul.

I Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot:

He is your only atonement. Only through Christ can you be "at-one-ment" with your Father. Jesus was able. He in turn makes us able to humbly have the privilege of serving Him. Only He is perfect, spotless, and totally without blemish. Only in Him can you taste of that perfection. Until this flesh is put away, and our job here is done, we can only glimpse of what He has in store for us.

There is a song we were told to learn. It is the song of Revelation 15 and recorded in Deuteronomy 32. You should know the contents of the Song of Moses because it is what the overcomers will be singing as they go to meet the Messiah at His second advent. To finish your study on the spots and blemishes, read it.

Meditate on His Word and understand His love for you. Heed His warning of those spots and come out of the deception. How? Stay in the spotless beauty of His Word.

Every day is a beautiful day, " Jesus is the Living Word"
